Israeli forces recently captured illegal intruders attempting to enter Israel from the West Bank after detecting them with SensoGuard's SG-Cam Kit. Intruders crossing the border illegally are an ongoing challenge for Israeli security forces: the long land border is difficult to secure at every point, and roadside culverts, tunnels, and other underground access points present an even greater challenge.
The Israel Defense Forces began using SensoGuard's SG-Cam Kit to detect intruders entering through roadside culverts. Although the IDF already used this technology elsewhere, this was the first deployment specifically to secure roadside culverts. The kit combines an unattended ground sensor, a wireless covert camera, and a command & control alarm management interface.
How the Deployment Worked
The unit placed the underground sensor just outside the culvert exit and positioned the camera ten meters away. When the sensor registered movement, it immediately activated the camera. At the same time, the border patrol unit received an alert and began viewing the live feed on the command & control interface. Once the unit identified the intruders, a patrol team was dispatched and made the capture.
SensoGuard CEO Tomer Levy explained the reasoning behind the deployment: "Prior to this operation, a border patrol commander asked us for a solution to prevent crossings via roadside culverts.
